Stage: Geological exploration
Dates: 2022-2028
Investment amount: $386 million
Location: Navoi region, Uzbekistan
Uzbekistan intends to increase uranium reserves by development of new deposits. Pilot works on uranium mining using the in-situ leaching method are being carried out.
Muruntau deposit development (Phase V)
Operator/initiator: Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Combine
Stage: —
Dates: 2023-2025
Investment amount: $183 million
Location: Navoi region, Uzbekistan
In spring 2022, the Balpantau and Tamdybulak deposits were opened as part of the Muruntau mine, and the first blasting operations were carried out. The mine has a total resource estimate of over 150 million ounces of gold and is currently producing over 42 million tonnes of ore per year. Phase V of open pit mining will allow to mine gold at a depth of up to 1,050 metres and increase the production volume to 50 million tonnes of ore.
Integrated development of the Uch-Kulach polymetallic ore deposit
Operator/initiator: Esan Eczacibasi
Stage: Geological exploration
Dates: 2023-2025
Investment amount: $120 million
Location: Jizzak region, Uzbekistan
The aim of the project is to organise production of non-ferrous metals (zinc, lead, cadmium, bismuth, silver). The mine will produce 500 thousand tonnes of polymetallic ore per annum by open pit mining. In addition, the project involves the construction of a modern concentrator with an annual processing capacity of 500,000 tonnes of ore. It will also produce 5.4 thousand tonnes of zinc concentrate and 18.4 thousand tonnes of lead concentrate. As part of the project, the existing crushing and transshipment unit with a crushed ore storage facility will be completely renovated. Construction of external utilities and reconstruction of the motorway and railway are also planned.
